Trinidad Bay Eatery & Gyppo Ale Mill Oyster Stout Collaboration

Oyster Stout!

It is here! The Oyster Stout has arrived and it is divine! With the help of Trinidad Bay Eatery, we used 200 pounds of freshly shucked Pacific Oysters, as well as the liquid, no shells. These were placed in sacks and allowed to roll around in the boil kettle where all the salt and minerals from the oysters is assimilated in to the liquid that will become the beer. That's 20#'s of oysters per barrel or 1oz per pint.

In essence what this does is add a mineral quality to the beer that lends to a silky feel, and a perceived sweetness. Salt aka sodium at a level just below the threshold of our tastebuds actually makes things seem sweeter than they actually are. This lend a hint of umami and a subtle aroma of the sea.

Eating an oyster while imbibing this beer is the optimal way of experiencing this brewski. That is why you’ll find a Surf & Turf Oyster Stout burger at both locations! This Burger Features The Oysters Poached In The Making Of Our Oyster Stout Beer. We Breaded Them, Deep Fried Them, And Set Them On 6 Ounce Grass Fed Beef Patty. Burger Also Includes House Made Chipotle Aioli, Cypress Grove Melted Cheddar Cheese, Red Onion, Pickles, And Arugula. Best To Be Enjoyed With A Pint Of Oyster Stout!

Visit both locations, Trinidad Bay Eatery and Gyppo Ale Mill and once you reach the second location, it's instant gratification! We'll set you up with a half-off beer and one free oyster. Sunset timing is up to you!
